Flowers!!

I can't remember the last time that I bought flowers, if ever. I love fresh flowers, but they can get a little pricey sometimes. Well, this last week I bought my first ever 1 dozen roses. Let me explain a little. We have a lady in our ward whose husband died last week from complications of pneumonia. He was fairly young, only 66 and the wife is probably a few years younger than that. Anyhow, she has no family in the area and she is estranged from pretty much everyone in her family so she has no one to help her. Erik and I have been helping her with funeral arrangements and just basically being her friend and helping her with whatever she needs. Her husband did 2 tours of duty in Vietnam and was an Army recruiter until he retired. As she was picking out flowers she wanted them to be red, white and blue for his patriotism and because he loved this country.
As I was looking for a flower arrangement to give to this lady, I saw these blue roses and thought that they would look beautiful in an arrangement with some red & white roses. I was blown away by how pretty and elegant they looked in a flower arrangement. I just had to share them with all of you. I was lucky enough to have these flowers sitting on my counter for 6 hours before we went and delivered them to her. She wasn't home when we delivered them, but she called us back later that night to tell us how much she LOVED them. I told Erik that the next time he gets the "itch" to buy flowers for me, these are the colors that I want. ENJOY!!!
