It's finally official. Ashli has "graduated" from the 6th grade. I don't know how many elementary schools out there do a 6th grade graduation, but I think it's a great idea for schools to do it. After all, the kids are leaving elementary school behind and will be experiencing something totally different. For their graduation program, they had each student come up one by one and tell what they wanted to be when the "grow up." Then they proceeded to shake the hands of their teacher, the principal and the other 6th grade teachers. Each 6th grade teacher said a few remarks before presenting their class. They also had all of the students stand up that had Honors or High honors. I'm proud to say that Ashli was one of the few that stood up for Honors. Then they had the D.A.R.E officer come up and give out a few awards. After that, the students all sang a song (the one from the movie "Grease" that's at the very

end of the show) and then gave their mothers a rose. At the end, a slide show was shown of the 6th grade activities throughout the year. The school put together a very good program. I am so proud

of Ashli for all of her accomplishments and for everything that she does. As a side note, Ashli was also put in as the 2nd counselor in Beehives a month ago. Times are changing and my kids are growing up.
