Mini vacation to West Yellowstone!!!

Well, let me start with the day we left. We left on Wednesday afternoon to go up to my parents house in Sugar City, where we would stay for the night. We had just passed Blackfoot when our fuel light went on in the Tahoe. We thought for sure that we would have enough gas to get us to the next off ramp where we were sure we would find a gas station. The thing is, we have never let our gas gauge get that low so we didn't know how many miles we had until we were completely empty. Well, we went maybe a couple of miles and our Tahoe completely shut down, right on the highway. Luckily, Erik was able to drift over to the side of the road where we sat, just stumped that we could do something so stupid. We were debating what to do when we realized that we had gotten Roadside Assistance with our new insurance. So, we called them up, told them our dilemma and within an hour they had someone there filling us up with a few gallons of gas, just enough to get us to the next off ramp where we would be able to fill up our Tahoe. Talk about a way to start off our vacation. We arrived at my parents house in time to eat dinner, say our hellos and chat a bit and then it was off to bed.

Thursday morning my dad, Erik and Ashli left on the Motorcycles for their ride up to West Yellowstone. They were taking the scenic route and were also going to do a little driving in the park and so they left before us, plus we couldn't check into our hotel until after 3 pm. So, while they were on their way my mom, Spencer and I had a few errands to do and then we came home and packed the car up for West Yellowstone. Everyone arrived safely at the Hotel and then we went to the Playmill that night to see "Footloose". What a great show that was. I would highly recommend that musical/play to anyone who is headed to West Yellowstone this summer. And after the show we had to stop and get our ice cream treat at Dairy Queen, which seems to be a tradition also. We also went swimming that night and then went to bed. Spencer also had to have his picture taken with every painted buffalo that he saw.

P.S I am going to break this post up into 2 posts because I don't want it to be so long and overwhelming for you to read.
